Sunsisters Helena Yates and Seana Carroll are working with musician/digital artist Jaime Tauler on his brain child, Virtual Dance Monster. Virtual Dance Monster (VDM) is an interactive computer program that creates music and images using a dancer's movement. The dancer triggers sensors, manipulating computer models based on Cellular Automata (mathematical formulas representing cellular reproduction). The dancer behaves as a conductor and composer, instantly creating sounds and images through her movement within a 3D grid of computer sensors.

In the following footage from VDM's premiere at Stetson University (performed by Helena Yates), the dancer's fans act as triggers, tripping sensors within the invisible matrix.
The VDM program has vast potential. Outside of dance, it can also be used to create computer generated music, ambiance, and soundtracks.
